At Crane Law Firm we believe that legal fees shouldn’t be a surprise to clients or require uncomfortable questions to obtain. That’s why we offer flat fees for probate, guardianship, and estate planning services. We strive to be upfront about all financial matters, keeping you well informed and in control of the total costs. At Crane Law Firm, we will recommend the least costly approach that will get the job done for you. In fact, if doing nothing is in your best interest, we’ll tell you that too.

Initial Consultations

Initial Consultations are $150 for up to 30 minutes

Will Package (Will & Disability Documents) Flat Fees


Single Person $700 - Married Couple $1,100

  • Initial consultation with attorney

  • Simple Will* for Non-Taxable Estate

  • Statutory Durable Power of Attorney

  • Medical Power of Attorney

  • Living Will (Directive to Physicians)

  • HIPAA Authorization (for the release of medical information)

  • Declaration of Guardian in Event of Later Need

  • Declaration of Guardian for Children (if needed)

  • Health Care Authorization for Children (if needed)

  • Appointment with attorney for will signing

 

*More complex wills may require an additional fee. The attorney will determine the fee at the initial consultation.

Will Only Flat Fees


Single Person $500 - Married Couple $800

  • Initial consultation with attorney

  • Simple Will* for Non-Taxable Estate

  • Appointment with attorney for will signing

Disability Documents Only Flat Fees

  • Statutory Durable Power of Attorney – $150 each

  • Medical Power of Attorney – $100 each

  • HIPAA Authorization (for the release of medical information) – $100 each

  • Living Will (Directive to Physicians) – $100 each

  • Declaration of Guardian in Event of Later Need – $100 each

  • Declaration of Guardian for Children – $100 each

  • Health Care Authorization for Children – $100 each

  • Complete Set of Disability Documents – $400 for Single Person, $600 for Couple

Probate with a Will Flat Fees

  • Probate of Will as Muniment of Title for Self-Proved Will – $2,100 (includes costs)

  • Independent Administration for a Self-Proved Will – $2,600 (includes costs)

Probate without a Will Flat Fees

  • Affidavit of Heirship – $600 (includes filing)

    • Fee for multiple properties may be higher

    • Fee when research is needed may be billed on an hourly basis

  • Small Estate Affidavit – $1,100 (includes filing)

    • Fee when research is needed may be billed on an hourly basis

    • If a hearing is required, an additional $300 fee applies

    • To record in real property records, an extra $100 fee applies

Guardianship Flat Fees

  • Uncontested Guardianship of the Person – $3,500 (includes costs)

    • Initial Consultation

    • Drafting and Filing of Application

    • Completion of hearing documents

    • Represent Client at Hearing

    • Client is responsible for the cash bond (usually $100 per Guardian)

  • Assistance with Annual Reports – $150 (includes filing fees and new letters)
